Explore Early Learning with Gentle Guidance in Our Montessori Infant Program
Welcome to the Infant Program at Capstone Montessori School
At Capstone Montessori School, we believe that the journey of learning begins from the very first days of life. Our Infant Program is specifically designed for children aged 6 weeks to 12 months, and for those over 12 months who are not yet walking. We provide a warm, safe, and engaging environment that nurtures the early development of your child in true Montessori fashion.
Montessori Principles for Infants
Our program is grounded in the Montessori philosophy, which respects the profound importance of the first year of life in laying the foundation for physical, emotional, and cognitive development. During these formative months, infants are naturally curious and primed to learn from their surroundings. We honor this developmental potential by offering a prepared environment that is rich in sensory and motor experiences, tailored to support each stage of an infant’s growth.
Developmentally Appropriate Environment
Our classrooms are thoughtfully designed with the needs of infants in mind. They are safe, nurturing spaces filled with age-appropriate materials that encourage exploration and allow infants to develop at their own pace. The environment is calm and orderly, which helps to instill a sense of security and allows for the development of concentration.
Individualized Attention
Recognizing the significance of the teacher-child relationship at this early stage, we maintain a low teacher-to-child ratio of 1:4. This ensures that each infant receives individualized attention and care. Our Montessori-trained teachers are skilled in observing and responding to each child’s emerging needs and interests, facilitating natural developmental milestones like grasping, crawling, and the initial stages of language acquisition.
A Partnership with Parents
At Capstone Montessori School, we view parents as partners in the educational journey of their children. We maintain open lines of communication and encourage parents to engage with our community, ensuring that the transition from home to school is smooth and comforting for both infants and their families.
We invite you to join our Infant Program, where we cherish the privilege of accompanying your child on their first educational voyage, laying the groundwork for a lifetime of curiosity and learning.
